Building on a lifetime of public service, President Clinton established the William J. Clinton Foundation with the goal of strengthening the capacity of people throughout the world to meet the challenges of global interdependence.
Come learn about the Clinton Foundation and how the Clinton Foundation applies business principles to some of the major issues facing us today. Anil Soni, CEO of the Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative (CHAI) and Kanika Bahl, Executive Vice President of CHAI, will speak about the intersection of private/public partnerships and how the Foundation brings business principles to the healthcare arena.

Speaker Bios:
Anil Soni is the Chief Executive Officer of the Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative (CHAI), a division of the William J. Clinton Foundation which assists governments in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean to implement national HIV/AIDS care and treatment programs and which works to improve market dynamics for related medicines and tests, lowering prices and accelerating access to these life-saving technologies. Anil previously was Director of Drug Access at CHAI and then Executive Vice President for Access Programs. From 2004 to 2005, Anil was the Executive Director of Friends of the Global Fight, a nonprofit that advocates in the United State for increased public leadership and private engagement to support the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. From 2002 to 2004, Anil served as the Advisor to the Executive Director of the Global Fund in Geneva, where he provided senior policy counsel to guide the organization’s development and operations in its first two years. Anil was also a consultant at McKinsey and Company, where he served such clients as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Botswana Ministry of Health. He also worked for the Northwestern Memorial Hospital, in the White House Office of National AIDS Policy, and with nongovernmental organizations in Ghana and the Middle East. Anil graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College.
Kanika Bahl is the Executive Vice President of External Relations and Development at Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative (CHAI), where she leads CHAI’s interactions with global donors and partners. Kanika has been at the foundation since 2005 and previously served as Vice President of Country Operations, where she launched and managed teams across 16 countries in West, South, and East Africa. Prior to this Kanika served as Africa Regional Manager, working with governments to save millions of dollars through creation of efficient HIV/AIDS drug purchasing, distribution, and supply systems. Before coming to CHAI, Kanika worked as a finance associate at Bechtel Enterprises, where she managed the divestiture of Latin American investment portfolios and developed recovery strategies for distressed global assets. Prior to this Kanika worked at a leading microfinance institution within the World Bank, CGAP; and with a technology start-up to develop their Africa rollout plan. Kanika received her MBA from Stanford Business School in 2002.
